Description:
In 1935, the first Canadian one dollar coin is released into circulation. It features a voyageur scene, two men paddling a canoe with bundled cargo between them. One of the bundles is marked "HB" for the Hudson's Bay Company. The one-dollar coin here enclosed has been altered, and restamped, to also feature the company's logo, as of the time the loonie was introduced in 1987.
